Jeff Perkins, CPA, CIA, CHFP, MBA, was appointed vice dean at the School of Medicine Columbia on Jan. 1, 2024, and he continues to serve USC as the associate vice president for medical school strategy and operations. He also holds the title of clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the School of Medicine Columbia. Perkins previously served the last four years as USC's chief operating officer. 

For over a decade, Perkins served as the chief of staff and the associate dean for administration and finance at the School of Medicine Columbia. In his new role as vice dean, Perkins' focus is on supporting the dean in meeting the strategic goals and many of the operational aspects of the school. 

Though Perkins officially stepped away from the School of Medicine in mid-2018, he stayed connected in his role as senior vice president for the USC SOM Educational Trust, a title he has held since 2016. He has an extensive background in health care, accounting, operational management and administration.
