Biography

Anna Harper, a native South Carolinian from Pawley’s Island, is the Lab Manager and Administrator for the IRF. After completing her Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in music at the University of South Carolina, she joined Tom Borg’s lab in the SOMC Cell Biology and Anatomy department to conduct cardiovascular research. In 2004, Anna joined the IRF staff and has held numerous different responsibilities during her tenure. Currently, she is the confocal microscopy expert, assists users with whole mount/3D reconstruction, teaches graduate students several lab techniques, and is the staff advisor for the Applied Biotech Club. Away from work, she loves being outside and is always on the go with her husband and two children. Anna’s door is always open for anyone who needs to talk.
