About the Program
Who: The SC Assistive Technology Program (SCATP) is hosting an Adapted Book Workshop for family members, professionals, and school staff who support children with disabilities.
When: April 11 and 12, 2024 with three workshop sessions per day.
Workshops are two hours long:
- Session 1: 9-11 a.m.
- Session 2:12-2 p.m.
- Session 3: 2:15-4:15 p.m.
What: During the Adapted Book Workshop, SCATP staff and volunteers will help participants adapt 1-2 books for communication, page turning and tactile interaction.
Each two-hour workshop will be presented in two parts:
- Introduction to adapting books
- Adapting the Wish List books to make adapted book kits
Participants will leave with at least one or two adapted book kits that can be used at home, in the classroom or be donated to the school library.
** NOTE: All participants should bring both books listed in the Amazon Wish List.
