Project Overview

Richland County is eligible for U.S. Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Mitigation resources (CDBG-MIT) based on Presidential Disaster Declarations #4241 and #4286 covering 2015 and 2016. The CDBG-MIT funds support efforts to improve longer term disaster resilience through mitigating existing disaster risks and enhancing capacity of communities in mitigation planning. The project provided data analysis services to the county as they developed their plan.  These included: updated hazard profile, community lifeline potential impacts, unmet needs from residential recovery, identification and crosswalk of existing mitigation projects. 

The Richland County proposed CDBG-MIT plan was posted on-line for public comment March 12, 2020 and submitted to HUD in August 2020.
