Class Reunion Challenge 2019

Our alumni have unique personality traits and aptitudes that include high intelligence, professionalism, thoroughness, and a common passion for helping others. But, let’s be honest – you’re also a competitive group!

That’s why milestone classes in 2009 decided to create a friendly reunion competition to promote 100% giving participation from each class and high attendance at the Alumni Reunion Weekend each year.

With the support of the Class Reunion Committee made up of co-chairs from each class, this year’s competition will be bigger, better, easier and more fun than ever. For the first time, there will be a special online web page dedicated to each class that features a donor wall and giving thermometer tracking all gifts made over the course of the 2019 fiscal year (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019). Therefore, if you have given to the USC School of Medicine up to this point this fiscal year, it counts and has already been added in to your class giving thermometer.

Plus, you and your classmates will have a chance to win bragging rights that will be highlighted for the remainder of the year on our website, and a prize award (or three) during our Alumni Reunion Weekend! This year’s award categories include:

  • Top Docs Award – given to the class that contributes more than any other reunion class in the fiscal year of your reunion. It all counts – gifts, pledges, and bequests made to the USC School of Medicine.
  • Golden Piggy Bank Award – given to the class that has the highest percentage of giving in the fiscal year of your reunion. Same as above – everything counts!
  • Golden Stethoscope Award – given to the class that has the highest percentage of attendance at the Alumni Reunion Weekend.

This year’s Alumni Reunion Weekend is set for March 7-9, 2019, but the deadline for gifts to be counted is Friday, March 8.

All gifts, no matter the size, count toward a collective contribution that not only helps our students reach their overall fundraising goal of $75,000, but more importantly, supports medical breakthroughs, educates future healthcare professionals, and improves community health across the state of South Carolina and beyond.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
