Visiting Scholar: Dr. Diana Robins. We are excited to welcome Dr. Diana Robins! Dr. Robins is a globally-renown clinical psychologist whose work continues to innovate and advance screening tools for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). At Drexel University, she directs the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute. She will spend two days meeting with CAN Research Center researchers and trainees. Dr. Robins is giving a seminar is on Monday September 19 at 3:30 pm in Hamilton 322.
Science meeting starts at 3:30 pm at Institution for Mind and Brain, 1800 Gervais Street, Conference Room 125. Each month we will have 1-2 speakers that will provide updates about their current work. All are invited to attend!
Monthly happy hour starts ~ 4:30 pm. Join us on the patio outside of The Graduate, conveniently located on the main campus (1619 Pendleton St). The bar serves drinks and food.
For Fall 2022, we are trying something new: We will host a Work In Progress (WIP) meeting from 3:30-4:30 pm at the Institution for Mind and Brain, 1800 Gervais Street, Conference Room 125. This is designed as a "drop-in" casual meeting open to all CAN members where you can seek input from fellow researchers. Bring your own questions about papers or grants or projects and come prepare to help your colleagues resolve issues!

"Increasing Access to Parent-Mediated Interventions for Autism in the Community:
Project ImPACT as a Case Example"
Parent-mediated intervention has a growing evidence base and is considered best practices
in comprehensive care for autistic children. However, research suggests that it is
under-utilized in community settings. Project ImPACT is a parent-mediated, naturalistic
developmental behavioral intervention (NDBI) that was developed with the explicit
goal of facilitating the use of PMI by community providers. This talk will discuss
the research supporting its development, as well as training and program adaptations
that can support its use in a wider range of community settings, with the goal of
increasing access to parent-mediated interventions for young autistic children and
their families.
