WBTW-TV News Collection

This collection contains outtake footage shot by the news crews of Florence, South Carolina's CBS affiliate from 1958 to 1977.

About the Collection

The WBTW-TV News Collection contains approximately 200,000 feet of 16mm color silent and sound film. The footage documents people and events around the state of South Carolina during the 1960s and 1970s and includes materials related to local politics, the Civil Rights movement, school desegregation, and human interest stories.

The collection was donated to the University of South Carolina in 1996 by Cecil Chandler, Assistant News Director for WBTW-TV.
