Open Access Survey for Faculty

Dear University of South Carolina Faculty member,

Members of the University Libraries’ Open Access Advisory Council are conducting a study for internal purposes on the use, perceptions, and future of open access publishing at the University of South Carolina. As a faculty member at the University of South Carolina, you are invited to participate in this study. Your input will help us to determine which open access publishing initiatives should be supported by the University Libraries. 

If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to provide information regarding your experiences with and perceptions of both traditional and open access publishing. The survey will take approximately twenty minutes to complete. 

Data will be collected via Qualtrics, and all responses will be anonymized. Survey data will be stored in an access-restricted Microsoft Sharepoint folder shared only between research team members. The analysis will be conducted by the research team to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of the participants. The survey is available online and will be open through April 29, 2022.
