Vandana joined Digital Research Services as the applied AI/Data Science Specialist in August 2024. She is a PhD (Computer Science) candidate at the AI Institute, University of South Carolina. She also has an MBA (Financial Management) from Pace University, Master of Natural Science (Computational Math) from Arizona State University, and a Master of Science (Math) from University of Lucknow, India. Vandana has more than 12 years of work experience as an Educator, Entrepreneur, and Analyst. In India, she has worked as Math, CS, and Finance faculty at different engineering colleges. In USA, she worked as an analyst at IBM Corporate HQ and as VP (Investor Relations) at Tantiv4.

Vandana has experience analyzing data from different domains such as health, finance, humanities, and law, using AI and Machine Learning. Some of her completed projects are listed below:

  •  Developing a machine learning model to identify and predict Jim Crow language in the SC books of acts and joint resolutions. [2022 - 2024]
  •  Applying natural language processing concepts to explore and analyze the Freeland edition of SC tax books published between 1969 – 2016. [2022]
  • The characterization of neutrophils using single cell RNA sequence analysis in Lupus patients. [2022]
  • Predicting the most likely hotel group to be booked by travelers on Expedia on a Kaggle “hotel recommendation” competition dataset; compared the prediction results for four machine leaning algorithms; random forest, multilayer perceptron, naïve bayes, and xgboost. [2021]
  • Developing a model-driven approach of electrocardiogram recordings to study relationships between ASD and early autonomic control using the Bayesian inference method and Pyro probabilistic programming. [2021-2022]
  • Analyzing Indian Initial Public Offerings for trends and performance. [2016 ]
