Educational Psychology and Research

The master’s program will build your research skills, including critical reading of research, use of statistical techniques and the construction, selection and interpretation of cognitive tests. It can serve as an excellent foundation for pursuing a Ph.D. The program also provides essential training for immediate employment in school districts, departments of education, evaluation and research firms, and nonprofits.

The master’s degree offers an on-campus option, designed primarily for students who also plan to earn a doctorate, and an online option, designed primarily for current educators and other professionals. For specific curriculum requirements, please visit the academic bulletin.

Educational Psychology: This program is ideal for anyone who wishes to teach or conduct research in higher education, as well as people who are, or wish to become, responsible for classroom learning in other areas of education and industry.

Educational Research: This concentration will prepare you for fields like academia, consulting and clinical practices. You will build core competencies in measurement and statistics, evaluating programs, research design, test construction and analyzing data with computer statistical packages.
