Counseling and Counselor Education
Helping others is a primary role of a good counselor. Counseling may take many forms, and our graduate-level programs range from counselor education in our College of Education to genetic counseling in our School of Medicine.
Graduate Degrees
Our College of Education offers advanced programs of graduate study in counselor education that can lead to a doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision. Our education specialist degree allows you to choose a concentration in school counseling or marriage, couples and family counseling. The College of Education also offers counselor of education certificate programs for career development facilitators and play therapists.
Our School of Medicine offers master's degree programs in genetic counseling, where students are afforded a wide range of clinical opportunities in prenatal, pediatric and adult settings as well as specialty clinics through our clinical rotation network, and in rehabilitation counseling, a cross-disciplinary program with focused training to enhance the quality of life of disabled and disadvantaged persons.
