Junior Math Major Felicia McGill, a native of Cassatt, South Carolina, is one of three UofSC students to win a prestigious 2021 Goldwater Scholarship.  McGill is in UofSC’s Honors College, and she is a Capstone Scholar.  Her second major is Spanish.  She ultimately plans to study for a doctorate in neuroscience and to conduct autism research.  Nationwide, a total of 410 students won the scholarship out of over 1,200 students nominated by 438 institutions.  Since 1990, math majors have accounted for just over 20% of UofSC's Goldwater Scholarship winners (15 out of 73).
