General Information 2014

The 28th High School Mathematics Contest at the University of South Carolina is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2014. All South Carolina high schools are cordially invited to participate. Our goal is to stimulate interest in mathematics among high school students and to recognize those who exhibit exceptional talent. At the conclusion of the contest, prizes will be awarded to outstanding individual participants and to winning teams.

Prizes include four-year scholarships in the amounts of $8000 per year, $4000 per year, and $2000 per year, respectively, for the top three finishers on the written exam.

Our itinerary for February 1st will be as follows:

 9:15 A.M.   Registration --- lobby of Gambrell Hall
10:30 A.M.   Written Exam --- classrooms assigned on day of contest
10:45 A.M.   Review of Exam for Teachers --- Room TBA
12:00 P.M.   Lunch Break
 1:15 P.M.   Ciphering Contest --- Gambrell Auditorium
 2:15 P.M.   Mathematics Tournament --- Gambrell Auditorium
 3:00 P.M.   Awards Ceremony --- Gambrell Auditorium
