Discover UofSC, sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research, will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021. The Discover UofSC event website, built on the iPosterSessions virtual conference platform, will go live at 7 a.m. on April 23.
Discover UofSC showcases research, scholarship, leadership and creative projects by undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars and medical scholars representing the entire UofSC System, from the Upstate to the Lowcountry. All visitors are welcome at this free, open, virtual event, which offers a great opportunity for the community to learn about the exciting research and scholarly work happening at UofSC.
Highlights for the 2021 event will include:
- Video welcomes from UofSC President Bob Caslen and UofSC Vice President for Research Prakash Nagarkatti
- An engaging keynote speech by COVID-19 expert Dr. Helmut Albrecht, Chair of the Prisma Health Midlands Department of Internal Medicine and as the Heyward Gibbes Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine at the UofSC School of Medicine
- iPosters by UofSC undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs and medical scholars from the UofSC School of Medicine and Prisma Health
- Three-minute thesis speeches by UofSC graduate students
- Outreach exhibits hosted by faculty/staff-supported campus organizations across the
UofSC and Prisma Health communities
