GTA/GIA Training

All graduate teaching or instructional assistants (GTA/GIAs) must participate in a two-part training program. International teaching assistants require an additional language workshop.

Training Program

Both teaching assistants and instructional assistants are required to participate in the GTA/GIA Training Program.

Two-Part Program

  1. Orientation: Prior to the start of the semester
  2. Semester-Long Course: For teaching assistant development (GRAD 701 or department equivalent) 

 

International Teaching Assistants 

ITA Workshop and Assessment
In addition to the GTA/GIA training program, all international graduate students must attend a training workshop and receive an evaluation of their oral English skills.
