PASS Program

The College of Nursing has partnered with the university's Student Success Center to develop the Program for Academic Support Services (PASS) program. PASS aims to help nursing students thrive, not just survive.

The goals of the Program for Academic Support Services (PASS) program include enhancing academic performance by providing tailored resources, tutoring, and support services to nursing students. Initiatives are aimed at addressing academic challenges and offering support when needed.

  • Study skills, time management techniques, and learning strategies are shared to improve academic success and confidence.
  • Peer learning and collaboration are encouraged through group sessions and tutoring programs.
  • Accessibility to resources and services is ensured for all students, including underrepresented and at-risk populations.
  • Comprehensive tutoring services cover various subjects, and technology is integrated for enhanced learning experiences.
  • Collaboration with faculty aligns support services with curriculum objectives, and student engagement and leadership are promoted through involvement in initiatives.

Services

  • Workshop series on developing effective learning and study strategies.
  • Single session workshops on academic resilience as nursing students, stress management & self-care, classroom strategies and more.
  • Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction.
  • Accountability groups.
  • 1:1 and small group sessions with a Learning Strategy Specialist.
