Orientation Guides

Honors Orientation Guides welcome our incoming freshmen to USC and to the Honors College community during the Honors orientation process. Their enthusiasm for everything Honors and knowledge of the Honors experience makes sure our freshmen are well-prepared for their four years as Gamecocks.

Become an Honors Orientation Guide

This small group of students (4-6 per summer) assist with planning, organizing and presenting at Honors Orientation sessions throughout the summer. Orientation Guides will meet regulary with the Director of Advising, Ali Mathwig, for planning, as well as present at each of the eight Honors Orientation sessions. They will also assist on other projects designed to create community among the incoming freshmen class, including the design and creation of videos and social media content.

  • Paid position ($12 per hour)
  • 5 to 10 hours per week with availability each of the eight Honors Orientation sessions in June and July listed here. This position can be paired with other summer commitments depending on scheduling but Orientation will take place in person and those hired must plan to live in Columbia for summer.
