Honors College Internship Programs

Internship Courses

Honors Internship Courses give students the opportunity to earn academic credit from the South Carolina Honors College for an approved internship experience.  Students may only earn academic credit when enrolled in the internship course at the same time they are performing the internship.  Students must have special permission from the Honors College Internship Team to enroll in an honors internship course.

State Government Program

The State Government Program is a competitive internship program that affords students the opportunity to learn about South Carolina government and operations through a 3-credit seminar class in the fall and an internship with a state agency in the spring; students will earn academic credit for their internship.

South Carolina Washington Semester Program

The South Carolina Washington Semester Program (SCWSP) gives students from colleges and universities across the state of South Carolina the opportunity to spend a semester living, learning and working (full-time internship) in Washington D.C.

Workshops & Events

During the 2023-2024 academic year, the Honors College will host virtual and in-person workshops to support students on their journey to finding an internship.  Workshops/events may feature current honors students, alumni, campus partners and/or special guests.  As workshops/events are confirmed, they will be highlighted in the weekly SCHC Newsletter and on social media.
