Social factors in the development, identification, and treatment of mental illness. FS: 11/07/2018. CL: 2020.

Notes:

This is a general introduction to the biopsychosociology of mental disorders. Dr. Maris was an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at John Hopkins and will use texts that stress the introduction to psychiatry, as well as the sociology of mental disorder. He will discuss medication treatment, as well as psychotherapy. There will be 6 practicum exercises (like graphing your family tree for mental disorder,etc. You will be given a extensive bound book of handouts free of charge.
