Notes:
This course will provide an overview of the research and theories of the relationship between language processing and the brain. Topics covered will include neural basis of phonology, morphology, semantics of nouns, verbs, abstract and concrete concepts, and sentence processing. Students will learn about basic aspects of human neuroanatomy and neurophysiology that are relevant to speech and language. They will also learn about methods of investigating the brain, and get foundational knowledge about language-brain relationships that they can use for gaining a better understanding of clinical disorders. It can be of interest to students in psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics.
