**APPLICATION REQUIRED. The 2021-2022 South Carolina Semester Program is a 2 semester commitment. The S.C. Semester Seminar course is completed the semester prior to the S.C. Semester Internship (SCHC 489) and dwells heavily on state government operations and policymaking processes.** This course provides an opportunity for students to research and discuss state government operations and public policy issues; students will interact with a wide range of guest speakers, including state government officials and state agency administrators. The course will also guide students through their S.C. Semester Internship search. Students must complete a short online application to be considered for the program. Program participants will enroll in SCHC 333: S.C. Semester Seminar (3 credits) in the fall and SCHC 489: S.C. Semester Internship (3 credits) in the spring. SCHC 489 fulfills Honors Beyond the Classroom (Not Core). For SCHC 489, students are required to work 15 hours per week (at internship site) and will complete academic coursework online.
