Getting thoughts into words and then on paper takes mental agility, patience, and teamwork. This course examines the complex, creative, and ever-changing world of editing and publishing. Students will learn from various professionals in the field, including editors, publishers, designers, marketers, and writers of various genres. Besides their own writing, students will put their lessons to work on the annual South Carolina High School Writing Contest and its resulting book, Writing South Carolina: Selections from the High School Writing Contest.
