Course Attributes:

Notes:

This course has been designed to assist students in learning new skills, gaining experience in a professional work environment, and growing in their understanding of different work styles and environments. Students who participate in the SCHC Internship program will be expected to intern at least 10 hours per week for 15 weeks, for a total of 150 hours, to earn three credit hours. This internship will satisfy the Beyond the Classroom requirement for graduation from the South Carolina Honors College. In certain circumstances, a student’s internship may be less than 150 hours total.  Each credit hour requires 50 hours of internship work.  SCHC 391 is the internship course for students who only want one credit hour. USC 999-H01 is the internship course for students who would like to use their internship to satisfy the Beyond the Classroom Requirement for graduation from the South Carolina Honors College. Grades for this course will be determined by a mid-term and final evaluation completed by the student’s internship supervisor, as well as an informational interview, weekly logs and a summary paper. The weekly log is designed to help the student highlight new skills learned as an intern, and to record the work experiences for future reference. The summary paper will be the student’s reflection on their personal and professional growth throughout the semester as a result of the internship; this will include specific challenges and accomplishments as well as an understanding of their optimal work style and environment.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
