Notes:

This is a lecture/discussion that offers a conceptual history of Western art from the caves to the present. The class will be centered on the 16 defining moments in the history of art, those developments that had profound repercussions in the later history of art. Examples include Cave Painting, the Greek focus on the ideal human form, the Early Christian rejection of the physical world, Giotto's naturalism, Picasso's and Braque's development of abstract art, and Duchamp's appropriation art. Each week of the course will focus on one of these moments and its after-effects on the history of later art.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
