Notes:

Humans were born to hit the road, starting eons ago as we moved frequently and far after food, shelter, and safety, or out of sheer curiosity.  Truly, travel can affect scientific, cultural, and self-discovery, but throughout history it has also been associated with oppression, racism, sexism, and social, cultural, and environmental destruction.  Film and literature have often explored the negative consequences—intentional or unintentional—of cultural engagement. The purpose of this course is to acquaint to students, through film and literature, with both the positive and negative impacts of travel and tourism across centuries and continents, developmental settings ranging from the urban to the rural and all points between.**This course is open to all students and all levels, as travel and tourism is an intuitive field with broad appeal.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
