Academic Advising

Individual academic advising is one of the important perks of being an Honors College student. Your Honors College advisor is a specialized advocate and mentor who will guide you through the Honors College curriculum and open doors for you.

Advising for Spring 2019

Honors advisement for Spring 2019 will begin for seniors on September 24. Remember that you must meet with both your Honors College advisor who will register you for your honors classes and your major advisor who will clear you to self-register for your other classes. It is imperative that you see both advisors otherwise you will not be able to take advantage of priority registration and you could miss out on important classes.

You will be able to sign up for an advisement appointment appropriate to your USC starting date with your Honors College advisor.  Still not sure who your advisor is? Contact Student Services at Please note that if you sign up for an appointment in an earlier week than appropriate for you, your appointment will be deleted.

Students will sign up for advising appointments by collegiate entry year.

You are expected to sign up with your assigned Honors College advisor.  If you cannot find an available time slot with your advisor due to your class schedule, please contact your advisor in order to work out an available time.

Priority registration

Remember to meet with your major advisor in addition to your honors advisor. They will lift your advising hold so that you may register for non-honors classes.  Please check for your registration time.
