Paying for Graduate School

While graduate school is not inexpensive, it can be affordable when you combine funding from multiple sources, including loans if needed. As a general rule, students are advised not to take out loan sums that will total, upon repayment, more than eight percent of their monthly income.

Assistantships

Fellowships and Awards

Learn if you qualify for health insurance subsidy for full-time PhD students and students hired as graduate assistants on the USC Columbia campus.

Travel Grants
Complete the application process to earn up to $500 for domestic travel and up to $800 for international travel for research, conferences and presentations.

Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver
Visit USC’s Graduation and Retention Network to see how S.C. residents who are at least 60 years old, may take classes tuition free.
