Guidance for Cleaning and Disinfecting During COVID-19 Pandemic Events
A policy, plan and schedules for routine and enhanced cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting
have been created to meet the specific needs of each department and building. The
purpose for the policy [pdf] is to aim for a clean and healthy environment for students, faculty and staff by
taking measures to prevent the community spread of COVID-19. Faculty, staff and students
will be trained on the policy, plan and schedules for routine cleaning, sanitizing
and disinfecting surfaces. All will be asked to assist in keeping the University clean
and healthy.
Custodial Services will be focusing on their daily cleaning requirements along with
high touch surfaces in common areas. Faculty, staff and students will be asked to
assist with focusing on cleaning their personal areas such as, but not limited to,
computers, desk phones, keyboards, mouse, printer, projectors, dry erase markers,
erasers and other high touch surfaces.
The plan, policy and schedules should be considered flexible as adjustments may be
required by the CDC, OSHA, APPA and EPA. Adjustments may need to be made due to availability
of supplies and resources. Any potential changes will be communicated to all areas
affected.
