Guidelines

Program Spotlight

1Section 6(a) of the EPA Toxic Substances Control Act published in 40 CFR Part 751 Subpart B established an action level of 1 ppm averaged over an 8-hr work day.

2If your laboratory uses and/or stores methylene chloride, you must have a written standard operating procedure describing how exposure to this chemical is controlled so as not to exceed the action level.

3Avoid purchasing and storing methylene chloride in excess of what's reasonable for your needs.
