Registration for annual Women's Leadership Institute opens April 2

At 8 a.m. today, online registration will open for one of the University of South Carolina’s most popular annual events. Based on previous years, the 420 spots available will fill up in a matter of hours. It’s the Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI), a free daylong conference of professional and personal development for women in higher education that will take place Wednesday, April 25.

Holocaust survivor and stepsister of Anne Frank to speak at President's Leadership Dialogue

Eva Schloss, a Holocaust survivor and the stepsister of Anne Frank, will share her childhood and wartime experiences at the University of South Carolina’s President’s Leadership Dialogue at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Koger Center. The dialogue is part of the university’s Carolina Leadership Initiative, which fosters leadership development among students and makes leaders from various fields and backgrounds available to students and the community.

UofSC launches bold health sciences initiative

As the Southeast’s most comprehensive health sciences teaching and research institution, the University of South Carolina will build on its nationally recognized programs in medicine, nursing, social work, public health, pharmacy, biochemistry, business, computing and others, as well as its unique partnerships with health care providers throughout the state, to create the premier health sciences experience for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Greek Village parking facility under development

The university is developing a 1,200-space parking facility and meeting facility for use by fraternity and sorority members. Construction of the facility, which will be located adjacent to the Greek Village, is expected to begin in 2018, pending necessary approvals by the Board of Trustees.
