SOMG Graduation Year
- 2018
What are you doing professionally now?
- Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital), focusing on imaging.
Best memory of your time at SOMG?
- Bonding with my classmates, especially in anatomy lab with Dr. Shanna Williams! (“Always wear gloves when handling the models!!”)
How did your time at SOMG prepare you for where you are today?
- Clinical exposure was excellent and hands-on experience throughout my education provided an advantage needed to succeed in a clinically heavy residency (UAB Pediatrics at Children’s of Alabama) and current peds cardiology fellowship.
What person, course, or experience most influenced you while at SOMG?
- There are so many great people, of course, including the entire pediatrics department at GHS/Prisma Health, who are so amazing! In the early academic years, the encouragement I received from Dr. Bryan Worthington in Integrated Practice of Medicine (“how to be a doctor” class and group meetings), as well as Dr. John Emerson in Family Medicine was particularly meaningful and helped me realize my path in pediatrics as well as my interest in medical education.
