Scholarships

Awards Criteria

The School of Medicine Greenville considers ALL incoming M1 students for scholarships through a review of their applications. Students may also let us know about particular financial issues through an optional supplemental scholarship application. Review the financial aid timeline for deadlines and details. In addition, generous donors and supporters have provided scholarships that can boost your award total, but many have additional criteria that must be met. Be sure to review the requirements for these outside scholarships.

Your scholarship application is reviewed, with a focus on four major areas:

  • Merit- Based on the Admission Committee score, taking into account academic achievement as well as MMI and Interview scores, among other criteria.
  • Financial Need-Based on a review of information provided in your AMCAS and Supplemental applications as well as the optional supplemental application if it is submitted.

Upon review, the scholarship committee ranks all applicants and makes awards based on these rankings.

It is possible for you to receive a scholarship if you excel in either of these focus areas. Unless otherwise noted, you will receive your award for four years so long as you progress with your class.
