Donor Scholar Celebration

A successful medical school doesn't work without generous donors and outstanding students. At the USC School of Medicine Greenville we are grateful that we have have both. And every year we celebrate their amazing contributions.

Thank you for supporting our students and for helping us transform medicine, one doctor at a time. We’re honored to celebrate our donors, supporters, and student scholars.

"To have support from programs here in South Carolina like MedEx, to have a South Carolina family support me through scholarship to come to medical school here in state, and to be close to my family and the community I’m familiar with has been really special and makes me want to stay here and practice in South Carolina eventually."

"Growing up in Charleston, me and my friends only wanted to be ball players or rappers, so being a doctor was really far fetched for a lot of us. Once I saw it was possible, I thought I’m gonna go out there and do this. And now that I have a black man in a position I want to be in pouring into me, it's amazing. I can’t put that joy into true words."

"I think it’s beautiful in that they clearly had this legacy of loving their community and I think it’s just this natural progression of the Kellett scholarship of them investing in, not just myself, but the Greenville community at large and whatever community I end up practicing in."

"It means a lot for your support especially for students here. This is a new environment. No one has never done this before, we haven’t done this before. And to have someone supporting you in the background, wanting you to be successful, does mean a world."
