GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 9, 2017)—Today, students at Ralph Chandler Middle School in Simpsonville, S.C. had the unique opportunity to work with our biomedical faculty member Thomas Nathaniel, Ph.D., and the American Stroke Association (affiliated with the American Heart Association) for the second annual Stroke Awareness Program. The event was hosted by the middle school and featured interactive Stroke Education Stations to teach students about the signs and symptoms of a stroke and also healthy lifestyle tips to prevent strokes in the future. Students were also able to meet and interact with stroke survivors and hear their stories about their personal stroke experiences.
