University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville Awarded an NIH Educational Grant

SOMG, in partnership with Prisma Health-Upstate, received a $325K grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to improve medical education by developing materials for medical school faculty members that will help them determine if their teaching materials adequately integrate the latest research about differences between men and women.

More than 250 patients attended the free community clinic, held recently at Greer High School. The clinic was run by Remote Area Medical (RAM) and organized by a volunteer team of medical students at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG).

Free community health clinic to be held in Greer

The clinic, to be held at Greer High School, is part of Remote Area Clinic (RAM), a Knoxville, Tennessee-based nonprofit that holds events across the country to bring people together to address health-care issues in their community, and is being organized by a team of medical students at USC School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG).
