National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives

Since 2008, the National Resource Center conducted the National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives (NSSYI) in order to gain a more accurate view of sophomore-year initiatives at four-year institutions in American higher education.

2019 National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives

In spring 2019, the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition conducted the National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives (NSSYI). The purpose of this survey was to gain a more accurate view of sophomore-year initiatives in American Higher Education. A total of 3,722 institutions were invited to participate in the survey and a total of 310 institutions responded to the survey.

2014 National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives

In spring 2014, the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition conducted the National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives (NSSYI). The purpose of this survey was to gain a more accurate view of sophomore-year initiatives in American Higher Education. A total of 3,722 institutions were invited to participate in the survey and a total of 778 institutions responded to the survey

2008 National Survey on Sophomore-Year Initiatives

In fall 2008, the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition conducted the National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives. The purpose of this survey was to gain a more accurate view of sophomore-year initiatives at four-year institutions. A total of 2,641 institutions were invited to participate in the survey. A total of 315 institutions responded to the survey.

2005 National Survey on Sophomore-Year Initiatives

In fall 2005, the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition conducted the first National Survey on Sophomore-Year Initiatives. The purpose of this survey was to gain a more accurate view of sophomore-year initiatives at four-year institutions.  A total of 1,139 institutions were invited to participate in the survey. A total of 382 institutions responded to the survey.
