In spring 2014, the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition conducted the National Survey of Sophomore-Year Initiatives (NSSYI). The purpose of this survey was to gain a more accurate view of sophomore-year initiatives in American Higher Education. A total of 3,722 institutions were invited to participate in the survey and a total of 778 institutions responded to the survey.
