About the Conference
The Inaugural Conference on the Transfer Student Experience is a mid-sized, in-person convening (500+) wholly focused on transfer student success. Whether you're an experienced transfer professional or just getting started, you’ll learn practical and research-informed strategies, connect with colleagues in similar roles, and leave with new energy for this essential work.
This conference continues the legacy of the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS), which was acquired by the National Resource Center in early 2026. We are committed to preserving the community and practical focus that defined 20+ NISTS convenings, and to building new opportunities that reflect where the transfer field is headed.
Who Should Attend
Because positive transfer outcomes rely on a collaborative and holistic approach, we encourage individuals working in all functional areas at community colleges, universities, state systems, and other higher ed organizations to attend. Staff, faculty, administrators, researchers, and policy makers, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, are welcome to participate.
Whether you work in student affairs, enrollment management, academic affairs, or at the state, system, or national level, we hope you'll join us!
