Grants

Each year in partnership with other campus units the CTE offers teaching innovation grants designed to provide resources and support for faculty who are interested in exploring new and cutting-edge approaches in their teaching in ways that promise to enhance student learning. Funded grantees have the opportunity to participate in a cohort program as a part of the award process.

Carolina Core Online: Teaching Innovation Grants in Distributed Learning Course Development

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) with support from the Office of the Provost, invites full-time faculty to submit proposals for the development of exemplary Carolina Core courses for distributed learning (DL) delivery. Currently, fewer than 30% of Carolina Core courses are offered online or in a blended format. The goal of these grants is to provide students with a greater variety of high-quality DL options for fulfilling their Core requirements.  More Information

The purpose of this new grant program is to improve undergraduate student learning by supporting departments in incorporating evidence-based teaching and course design practices in the delivery of high-impact courses. Awardees will partner with the CTE in an 18-month rigorous team-based, faculty-driven process based on the nationally-recognized Course Transformation approach.  More Information
