                 providing you the flexibility to select the session you wish to attend.

Human Resources will make a one-hour presentation (9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.) covering all the benefits available to you as a new faculty member. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about healthcare options, retirement plans, and other essential benefits to make the most of your employment package. 

Following the presentation (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.), new faculty members will have the chance to engage in brief discussions with benefits counselors or arrange for more detailed meetings at a later date.

This comprehensive orientation is designed to provide just-in-time information tailored for busy new faculty members. The agenda includes: 

• Networking Breakfast: Meet and greet with academic deans and administrators. 
• Engaging Presentations: Focused sessions to help you acclimate to university life. 
• Resource Tables: Access to vital resources and support services to aid in your transition. 

How to Prepare for Both Orientation Days

• RSVP: Please confirm your attendance. Register for New Faculty Orientation.
• Bring Questions: Come prepared with any questions you might have about teaching, research, university policies, or any other topics.  
• Be Ready to Engage: Take advantage of the networking opportunities and interactive sessions. 

Important

If you are a new faculty member, then go to USC’s New Employee Guide (developed by the Division of Human Resources) and: 

• Complete the required tasks in Step 1 (Before You Arrive) and  
• Review Step 2 (Your First Day).  

Following these steps will complete your hire, ensure you get paid on time, and maximize your benefits.  The New Employee Guide also provides a variety of online tools and resources, including a checklist and several orientation classes.
