Alia Sadek, an M.D. student at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine
Greenville, has been chosen as one of the 100 doctoral students in the U. S. and Canada
to receive the highly prestigious $25,000 Scholar Award from the esteemed P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Her selection is a testament to her exceptional academic prowess and potential. She
was proudly sponsored by Chapter AN of Easley, SC.
Alia is the daughter of Patrick and Hala Sadek of Charlotte, NC. She is a 2019 South
Carolina Honors College graduate, where she received the Palmetto Fellows and Dean's
scholarships, among many other honors.
The P.E.O. Scholar Awards were established in 1991 to provide substantial merit-based
awards for women of the United States and Canada pursuing a doctoral-level degree
at an accredited college or university. Scholar Award recipients are a select group
of women chosen for their high level of academic achievement and their potential for
having a positive impact on society.
