In her role within Academic Affairs, Penny works with the Offices of Curriculum, Student Affairs and areas of Assessment and Research, and the Faculty Development committee to develop programming to ensure the continued professional development of SOMG’s educators, researchers and emerging leaders. She earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Florida and two Bachelor of Science degrees from Lander University in Biology and Psychology. Penny is currently pursuing a PhD in Learning Sciences from Clemson University, where her doctoral research focuses on faculty vitality as a critical outcome for institutions to consider in creating effective learning experiences. She has taught higher education courses for sixteen years, served as department chair, provided faculty development and mentoring, and served on local and national leadership and advisory boards.
