Bio

Background: I attended Clemson University for my undergraduate degree in Biology. From there I moved to Charleston, SC to attend MUSC for medical school. I decided during my 3rd year of medical school to pursue the field of pediatrics. I started my pediatrics residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013. I found the field of Neonatology fascinating and wanted to continue my training as well as hone my skills as an educator. I then moved back to Charleston for a 3 year fellowship in Neonatology. I spent my research time in fellowship examining the effects of the PDA on preterm infants as well as therapies utilized in the medical management of the PDA as well as the use of milrinone as a medication used in the recovery for surgical management of the PDA. After fellowship I moved to Greenville to join the excellent group of physicians working in NICU here at GHS. I have continued my interests in residency education and am one of the coordinators for the residency rotation in the NICU.
