Bio

Background: Dr. Hungerford is a Board Certified Pediatric Sleep Specialist with training and additional Board Certifications in Internal Medicine, Pediatric Critical Care, as well as General Pediatrics. He grew up in Knoxville, TN and earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. It was here he also completed his Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency and served as Chief Resident. He furthered his training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio where he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care and at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine. Prior to joining the Prisma Health team, he was a faculty member of University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he practiced Pediatric Critical Care Medicine as well as Pediatric Sleep Medicine. Dr. Hungerford views Sleep Medicine as the foundation of overall health and medicine. He is interested in inspiring health in his patients by learning their passions – the things that motivate them – and using those to help them make the necessary changes that will lead to their personal health and wellness.

For the past year Dr. Hungerford, his wife, their three children and two dogs have been enjoying being closer to home, family and friends.
