Root Cause

Root Cause is a monthly health and public services fair to engage our neighbors in the Dunean community. This volunteer project organized by UofSC School of Medicine Greenville students, is in partnership with School of Medicine Greenville faculty and staff, Prisma Health team members, and community partners.

Each month, Root Cause will be offering a variety of rotating programs centered around wellness and movement. These programs will change every month to ensure we are including a wide range of public health topics. Programs will include:   a free healthy meal from Project Host, FoodShare produce boxes, appointment scheduling, benefit signups, wellness workshops from the UofSC School of Medicine Greenville students and Prisma Health residents, health education, movement workshops, and much more!

Our Community Partners

This initiative would not be possible without the countless volunteer hours and support from our community partners.

Ways You Can Support This Cause

There are many ways to get involved, such as volunteering at the events (helping with set-up, signing people in, answering questions, clean-up), volunteering before the events (distributing flyers, putting up signs in the neighborhood), and donating necessary supplies for the Root Cause events (water for volunteers, garbage cans, paper products such as napkins, plates and cups, advertising flyers and signs).  If interested in volunteering, please email
