Bio
Background: | Dr. Herring is a 1983 graduate of the University of Arizona with post-doctoral internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He specializes in the neuropsychological sequelae of traumatic brain injury, stroke and related neurological disorders and the rehabilitation of persons with cognitive impairment. Dr. Herring is the Chief of the Division of Behavioral, Social and Population Health Science and also serves as the Clinical Director of the Outpatient Traumatic Brain Injury and Young Stroke Programs of Roger C. Peace Rehab Hospital, part of Prisma Health. Current service includes: Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Association of America-member. Teaching Interest(s): | Integration of principles of mindfulness (Conscious Leadership and Conscious Professionalism) and tools to increase self-awareness of medical professionals for both personal and professional growth. Application of Deliberately Developmental Organization principles to facilitate team development and achieve authentic community. Application of brain-behavior relationships to clinical management of neurological populations. |
