A native of Columbia, South Carolina, I returned to the state in 2013 after many years at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Professionally, I was drawn to the Greenville Health System because of my desire to teach and to take care of medically vulnerable families in a hospital system with a sincere commitment to innovative, compassionate medical care. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am currently serving the hospital as Vice Chair of Academics for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as site Principal Investigator for the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU) Network trials.

I am fully convinced that Maternal-Fetal Medicine is the most rewarding field in which to practice, and have been privileged to work with so many families over the years journeying through pregnancies complicated by unexpected fetal conditions or maternal medical disorders. Being able to bear witness to the unconditional love of parents for their children and the personal sacrifices they are willing to make on a daily basis is both humbling and deeply rewarding.

When I am not at the hospital or in the clinic, I love spending time with my husband and three young children. I am convinced that parenting elementary-aged school children is the very best, and am trying to soak it up while I can!
