I came to the Greenville Hospital System over 20 years ago to practice Maternal-Fetal Medicine with two other partners as the first female faculty member in the department of OB/GYN. I have witnessed the growth of our department to over eight MFM providers and have enjoyed the diversity of opportunities this has brought to women in the Upstate. We have grown our services to include comprehensive prenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, medical consultation for the complex obstetric patient, education for residents and medical students, and state –of-the-art research with national collaborators. The personal interests I have in education and patient advocacy have been nurtured here.

I work in our department to maintain standard of care guidelines for the delivery of obstetric care. My real niche is in walking with families down uncharted paths as unexpected complicated fetal and maternal conditions arise. I believe that the doctor-patient relationship is a precious sacred entity and feel privileged when parents allow us to enter their intimate moments of joy and pain.

Outside of work, I enjoy urban farming with my family and engaging in a myriad of activities that strengthen family relationships.
