Bio
| Background: | My parents emigrated to the US when I 3 months old, and built a better life for our family of 5. The majority of my childhood was spent growing up in Connecticut, and often visiting our extended family in Queens, NY. Family has always been an integral part of my life, with my grandparents as the cornerstone. While my grandmother never completed her high school education, she gained a lifetime worth of knowledge instilling in her children and grandchildren a concept that I've always taken to heart: No one can ever take your education away from you. Those words have taken me through a rigorous undergraduate program where my initial pursuit towards a career in laboratory research transitioned towards a career in medicine. At present, the pillars for my world continue to revolve around my family, friends, serving my patients and a desire to improve the world in whatever ways I am able. |
