This award was created to recognize the research, creativity and impact of one graduating senior’s thesis or project while also remembering the legacy of the first dean of the South Carolina Honors College, Dr. William A. Mould. Dr. Mould helped craft the Honors College in its earliest days and was a champion of the senior thesis requirement, believing that it was the ideal capstone experience for bright, eager young minds.
Using the criteria listed below, the nomination should explain briefly (one page or less) why the nominated thesis deserves this award. DEADLINE for submissions: Monday, April 8, 2024.
* Thesis/thesis project that demonstrates excellent research in the thesis topic with clear creative goals or objectives/hypotheses.
* The nominee’s thesis/thesis project demonstrates a contribution to the field or impact on the intended audience.
* The nominee’s approach to the thesis topic shows an ability to analyze or synthesize information in a creative and/or scholarly manner.
* The nominee’s thesis reflects his/her motivation and perseverance toward education goals and knowledge in their chosen field.
